Personal Experience

Certified as a specialist by the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California since 2004, Rod Firoozye focuses his practice exclusively on family law. Since establishing the Law Offices of Rod Firoozye in 1996, Mr. Firoozye has assisted thousands of clients both in the Bay Area and internationally.

Prior to specializing in family law, Mr. Firoozye was involved in business litigation cases against some of the world’s top corporations, such as Microsoft and EarthLink. His business litigation experience led to the publication of a case that was adopted as a civil jury instruction regarding fraud and misrepresentation (Firoozye v. EarthLink Network (N.D. Cal. 2001) 153 F. Supp. 2d 1115).

Mr. Firoozye is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML)* and has served as the Editor for the AAML National Newsletter, as well as a member of the AAML Executive Committee.

Mr. Firoozye is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL)** and has served on the U.S. membership and legal education committees.

Mr. Firoozye regularly collaborates with various experts and law firms to assemble a powerful team for handling the most complex litigation cases in Northern California. He has authored numerous articles and lectured on family law topics for attorneys in California and beyond. Additionally, he has testified as an expert witness in California proceedings regarding spousal support and has provided expert witness services on California family law in international cases.

Since 2008, Mr. Firoozye has been regularly selected by San Francisco Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” (an honor given to the top 5% of lawyers in Northern California). In 2022, he was also recognized by the Los Angeles & San Francisco Daily Journal as one of the Top 20 Family Lawyers in California. Additionally, Mr. Firoozye has been recognized by Doyle’s Guide as a “Leading Family & Matrimonial Divorce Lawyer – San Francisco, 2024.”

In his spare time, Mr. Firoozye enjoys reading biographies and traveling.
